About the role:
As the Business Development Manager with a broad spectrum of business development and sales experience, you will be responsible for managing the business development function for the business.
The position is predominantly a new business role where you will be targeting businesses within the healthcare market, but once the business has been won you will then retain and manage that account.
The position includes managing the Business development executives within the business and hence there is an emphasis for you to be an excellent people person with the ability to train, develop and manage staff that you will be supervising.
You will lead by example and be responsible for signing up clients on a membership package and to maintain their loyalty. Within your objectives will be the aim of growing the department and the number of business development professionals and teams that will continue to work under your supervision; a hands-on approach is essential.
Key duties include:
- Management of all business development managers
- Selling a membership package and the various professional services that the business offers
- Developing sales strategy for maximising acquisition of new clients/accounts on a monthly basis and regularly exceeding targets
- You will be travelling to meet with clients across the UK where necessary and managing appointments via video call meetings where possible
- Leveraging wider internal relationships with other areas of the business
- Focus is on the full Professional Services offering so a consultative style is essential
- Build strategy to identify prospects, managing the sales process and ultimately winning new business
- Overseeing the business development processes, policies and procedures ensuring the continued effectiveness
- Liaising with all internal departments to be able to sell the full benefits and memberships of the business
- Responsibility to grow the business development team of professionals
This is a senior position and you will be working with the directors of the business to develop and progress the business plan. A host of skills including managerial, operational, strategy and IT and people skills are required to be considered for this position. Most importantly, the pure ability to win new clients and business.
About you:
- Client focussed and with a proven ability to deliver solutions and maintain high standards of quality at all times
- Self-motivated, driven and have a commitment to high personal performance with demonstrable success in exceeding targets
- A top sales performer, you will ideally hold a background in selling services to A/B/C-level executives in enterprise sales
- The ability to navigate large, complex organisations to benefit the relationship and win new business
- Intellectually curious with a determination to understand the market and customer requirements
- Meticulous account management/planning skills
- Excellent Presentation skills, project management skills and familiarity with sales enablement tools
- Problem solving, analytical and presentation skills and strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Experience in the healthcare industry environment is strongly desired
