Key Responsibilities
- To keep constantly up to date with funding changes and new tender opportunities in the training sector
- To build good working relationships with stakeholders
- To actively source new funding opportunities in line with Juniper’s growth strategy
- To submit successful bids and tenders to funding organisations to contribute to achieving company targets
- Be able to work in a fast paced, competitive environment with the ability to work to deadlines set – sometimes at short notice
- Research and make recommendations to grow existing contracts
- Keeping up to date with tender portals in operation and bidding opportunities available, making accurate and timely submissions where appropriate
- To review market trends/employer needs to identify new sectors of delivery and make informed suggestions to grow and enhance delivery
- To create new business opportunities in line with the company growth strategy, to include expansion of Juniper’s Sports Provision.
- Build relationships with LEP contacts, Trade Organisations, Guilds and other Employer organisations to maximise opportunities for partnership working
- Competent with the use of Microsoft packages to be able to create presentations, present data and communicate with employees, partners and stakeholders
- To safeguard the welfare of all students, preventing radicalisation and promoting British Values

- To identify new business opportunities including new provision offers and growth areas utilizing local labour market information, research and data to inform strategic decision making.
- Ability to seek out and develop relationships with the most appropriate contact within employers, partners, schools and other agencies settings
- To meet with partners both face to face, on the phone and virtually to maximize business opportunities
- Ability to think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aims/objectives to meet business goals.
- To be confident and sales orientated to lead on planning campaigns and creating opportunities
To ensure the organisation is represented appropriately through the creation of professional presentations conveying key messages suitable to the target audience.
Essential Experience
- Proven track record of submitting successful bids
- Of working in an educational setting
- Of working in a managerial/autonomous business development role
Knowledge
- Of funding bodies/ funding available to training providers
- Of Apprenticeship delivery and Levy/non levy funding arrangements
- Tender portals and constructing tender responses
Desirable Experience
- Of working with deliverers of Apprenticeships/Study Programme
- Sales experience
- Marketing experience
Knowledge
- ESFA programmes, ESF, IMPACT, Apprenticeships and Traineeships of LEPs, Trade and other Employer Organisations
Candidates with experience or relevant job titles of; Sales Executive, Sales Person, Telesales, B2B, Sales Development, B2B Sales Executive, Direct Sales, Account Manager, Internal Sales Person, New Business Executive, Key Sales, BDM, Account Management, Lead Generation, Business Development Executive, Client Services will all be considered.
