Salary: £18,000 + 10% performance reward pa (pro rata for part time position)

The Society is the body responsible for the registration of environmental professionals. They are the custodian of the Chartered Environmentalist and Registered Environmental Technician registers, and since 2004 have established a sound platform as the body tasked with championing and registering the expertise of environmental professionals.
Working under the mandate of our Royal Charter as a partnership of Professional Bodies, they are in a unique position, bringing together a range of disciplines and sectors to reflect the multi-disciplinary practice of environmental professionals. The Society uses this unique position to advance environmental good practice bringing together expert input from their registered environmental professionals and like-minded organisations to facilitate credible and balanced input to environmental policy and decision making.
They have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to play a key role providing proactive and professional support across the organisation. You will be working closely with every member of the team, helping to deliver the Society’s programme of work.
Role Overview:
You will provide support in a range of areas including, but not limited to, data entry, travel bookings, updating contact databases, event management, collating and preparing presentations and meeting papers, answering phone calls and emails in a professional manner, taking the initiative for liaising with IT support, facilities and other suppliers to help ensure the smooth running of the office. Plus, regular tasks to include website updates, e-newsletter creation and marketing monitoring under the direction of the Engagement Manager.
Experience in business or team administration in a busy team is desirable. They are looking for an individual who will be a key member of their small team.
This position is suitable for part time / flexible working arrangements to suit both parties – open to discussion. The role may require occasional UK travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meeting/event management including booking venues
- Delegate management (invites, attendee confirmations, requirement etc.)
- Creation and distribution of meeting papers
- Creation of regular e-newsletters from existing content
- Data entry
- Sustainably source stationary and other business supplies
- Diary Management
- Distribution of enquiries to relevant team members
- Professional respond to enquiries
The Candidate:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Administration experience in a busy environment is desirable
- Good level of numeracy
- Good English language and grammar
Professional / Technical Skills
- Excellent organisational, communication and administrative skills
- Meticulous eye for detail and accuracy
- Good IT skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint would be desirable
- Experience of CRM systems desirable
