About the role:
EZ Repair are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Surveyor to join our team. As a Building Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in inspecting and assessing buildings for various purposes including construction, maintenance, renovation, and compliance with building codes and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and building sciences, excellent analytical skills and a keen attention to detail. They will oversee and survey all aspects of the build from implementation through completion. Please note we are not considering international candidates for this role and all applicants must have the right to work in the UK to be considered at this time.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Undertaking building surveys and site inspections throughout various stages of construction, renovation and maintenance
- Identify and report any defects, deficiencies or potential issues that may affect the safety, longevity or functionality of the structure
- Ensure that all construction projects adhere to all building codes and regulations along with attaining necessary permits and approvals.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to address technical challenges and ensure compliance with building standards
- Evaluate the use of materials and construction methods to ensure efficiency, durability and cost-effectiveness
- Produce schedule of conditions, reports, defect surveys and relevant work
- Management of sub-consultants and contractors
- Arranging meetings and collating project documentation as required
- Proactively assist the project management team in the day-to-day delivery of projects
- Development of project documentation, programmes, reports and budgets
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships with EZ Repair
Skills Required:
- 5+ years in a similar role (ideally building or maintenance related)
- Hold a recent RICS accredited degree in Building Surveying or a construction related technical discipline (MSc/BSc)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal
- Excellent time-management
- Capable report and specification writing skills
- Knowledge of IT and previous experience of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- To be a strong team worker with a proactive and willing attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative when required
- MRICS Qualification or currently through APC (training and development opportunities will be provided)
- Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK
- Be based in London or within commuting distance to Central London
