Job Title: Branch Manager
Location: Uckfield

Job type: Permanent, Full time. – Hours Monday to Friday, 7.30 am to 5.00pm with one hour for breaks and alternate Saturday’s 8am to 12noon.

The Role/Requirements:
- To produce and implement a sales growth plan to consistently meet and exceed sales and profit targets.
- To appraise the local market, identify new business opportunities and actively target new customers.
- To build close relationships with key existing accounts and increase spend accordingly.
- To oversee the smooth day to day running of the branch with particular emphasis on sales, stock control and debtors.
- To promote and maintain a safe working environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Motivating, leading, coaching and developing the branch team.
- Ensuring that the branch team are appropriately and adequately trained to perform their duties, provide a high standard of customer service and optimise all sales opportunities.
- Ensuring the team are aware of, and are following, Company procedures by means of regular branch meetings, briefings and training as necessary.
- Regularly contacting and visiting potential and existing customers to maximise all sales opportunities.
- Ensuring that the entire team is following up on sales leads and chasing up quotes.
- Monitoring, maintaining and developing existing customer accounts.
- Managing credit limits and chasing payment where required.
- Monitoring and maintaining accurate stock levels, including partial stocktaking.
- Managing team absences, holidays, appraisals and disciplinary action as required.
- Organising and arranging branch promotions and events.
- Attending Company and promotional events at the request of management.
- Actively promoting and maintaining health and safety at work.
- Ensuring the branch is kept clean and tidy.
- Till reconciliation for cash and credit sales.
- All other reasonable requests made by the Management of the Company.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- To have an understanding of the day-to-day running of a plumbers’ merchant.
- To have worked in the plumbing industry either as a supplier or with a plumbing / builders merchant, for a minimum of 5 years.
- Holder of a current clean driving licence.
- Candidate must currently be in a position as a Branch Manager – experience in role is essential.
