The Role

You would be providing effective and efficient support to the Deputy Bursar and proactively contributing to the smooth running of the Accounts Department.

Responsibilities include

The provision of a full administrative service to include, but not limited to:

  • Posting charges/credits to billing ledger accounts
  • Preparation of fee invoices on a termly basis
  • Raising Invoices/ Credit Notes as instructed by Headmaster, Bursar and Deputy Bursar
  • Allocation of cash receipts
  • Completing termly declaration for student insurances
  • Reconciliation of pupil database
  • Creation of Parent / pupil accounts
  • Allocation of discounts, fee structure, and boarding status

You will also assist the accounts department by:

  • Providing cover during staff absence and leave
  • Dealing with mail, opening and distribution
  • Maintaining efficient filing and other information systems

Ideal candidate

Essential

  • Experience working within an Accounts team.
  • GCSE English and Math (Or equivalent).
  • Excellent understanding of double entry bookkeeping.

Desirable

  • AAT Qualified/Part Qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Working within private education.
  • Sales ledger experience.
