Job Title: Bench Joiner
Location: You will be working at the company’s workshop in Bethnal Green E2, and onsite at residential and commercial addresses across the city
Salary: £18 – £21 p/h
Benjamin’s Workshop is a bespoke joinery company based in Bethnal Green E2.
We provide bespoke fitted furniture to residential and commercial customers across London. Primarily we supply kitchens, wardrobes, commercial cabinetry as well as other bespoke joinery items. Our client base consists of professionals; established designers, main contractors – as well as high end users.
The Role:
We are looking for a brilliant bench joiner to join our growing workshop team.
The Bench Joiner will both work independently on their own projects, and also work collaboratively as part of team on other projects. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable in both situations.
The work will involve all workshop-based elements of bespoke joinery furniture production.
Including but not limited to:
- Working from drawings and cutlists provided
- Cutting and edging sheet material on the panel saw and edgebander
- Cutting and planing solid material
- Machining and jointing material using a variery of tools and techniques including lamello, domino,router
- Applying veneers and laminates to sheet material
- Assembling cabinets
- Building and fixing doors and drawers
- Shaping including radius details, handles
- Making scribes and finishing panels
- Preparing jobs for finishing
Requirements:
- 4+ years joinery experience
- Ability to work independently from technical drawings
- Experience of joinery machinery and hand power tools
- Excellent understanding of furniture construction
- Punctual and hard working
- Keen to learn with a desire to make the most of all potential learning experiences
- An awareness of and commitment to, a high standard of finish
- Alert, engaged and keen to learn with a positive ‘can do’ mentality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Desirable Requirements:
- UK driving license
- Vocational qualification
