Job Title: Barback

Location: Mayfair, London

Salary: Up to £12.00 per hour.

Job type: Full Time – Permanent.

Purpose of Role:

Barbacks carry out tasks and mainly supports the bartenders and waiters during service. The barback will have passion and knowledge of food & beverage. To understand bar opening and closing procedures and be able to perform various behind the bar such as restocking the bar and preparing garnishes & supporting the waiters when required.

The barback role is a junior role in which if you’re interested in learning and beginning your career as a future bartender.

Main Duties:

  • Welcoming guests in a friendly manner & ensuring an exceptional level of service is always maintained to immaculate standard.
  • Assisting the bartenders when asked/required.
  • Ensure the restaurant and bar areas are clean and well presented at all times.
  • Mixing beverages using a wide range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits.
  • Be Knowledgeable of Classic Cocktails.
  • Supporting the CDR and serving drinks as requested, paying attention to detail.
  • Providing positive friendly guest experience by interacting with guests and colleagues.
  • Monitoring / Maintaining the bar stocked with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other essentials.
  • Cleaning the bar tables, chairs, and work area to maintain a sanitary environment complying with health and safety regulations.
  • Using initiative to anticipate any guests causing problems by notifying management to restrict alcohol intake and refusing service if guest is excessively intoxicated.
  • Setting up the bar before shift (stock up with ice, cut fruit, fill up juices).
  • Clean and polish glasses.
  • Make and deliver coffee.
  • Attend training sessions and team meeting as required.
