Job Title: AV and Events Technician
Location: Thatcham
Salary: £18,446 per annum (£22,000 per annum full time equivalent).
Job type: Term time only, Full Time.
About us:
To support the AV and Production Manager to deliver the technical requirements for school Events and Productions, the associated AV infrastructure in classrooms and venues, working collaboratively with all members of the Digital Delivery and Innovation department.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- To collaborate with and work as a member of AV technical team, who support and deliver the Events, Productions, and support the AV Infrastructure, in all classrooms and venues.
- To contribute innovatively to the delivery of events and productions, helping to ensure that the experience for all stakeholders (Pupils, Parents and Staff) is at the forefront of the design.
- Working with the AV and Production Manager to investigate relevant new and emerging technologies that have the potential to improve effectiveness and/or functionality, in line with needs of the school.
- To assist with the creation of Digital content, both pre and post Event/Production, in line with the requirements of the school.
- To support the AV and Production Manager liaising with and managing external contractors, to deliver system maintenance, periodic health and safety checks to equipment/rigging, design system upgrades and improvements, through to implementation.
- To assist the AV and Production Manager in delivering an appropriate level of AV support for all members of the school community.
- To support and participate in the production process for events with tasks such as design, preparation of equipment.
- To support the department with the maintenance and upkeep of our equipment and stores, and to ensure an accurate inventory.
- To contribute towards a strong CPD programme for all AV staff to enable the school to keep ahead of appropriate and emerging technologies and health and safety standards and emerging technologies and health and safety standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience of supporting live events with a passion for providing technical solutions.
- Have a knowledge and understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365 software and CAD/Visualisation tools such as Vectorworks and Capture.
- Have a knowledge of production and technical techniques including staging, set construction, rigging, design and installation of temporary structures, lighting, sound and video equipment.
- Enjoy the company of young people and be prepared to fully immerse yourself in the life of the School.
- Be efficient, with good organisational, IT and administrative skills.
- Have a flexible approach to working hours, including evening and weekend work.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff in an appropriate way.
