Job Title: Autoclave Operator – (Aerospace/ Manufacturing)

Salary: £11.00 (£21,164) to £12.00 (£23,088)
Job type: Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week over a 4-day week, Monday to Thursday.

The role:
We are currently searching for a highly experienced Autoclave Operator with at least three years of working experience within an aerospace/manufacturing environment.
As an approved Autoclave Operator who is able to undertake operations with all Brookhouse Aerospace Limited curing ovens and autoclaves to ensure that all parts/components meet set curing specifications. The operator must have the ability to work within a team as well as individually to meet manufacturing/operational objectives set by the Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Frequent communication (several times throughout each day) with the Department’s Team Leader to understand clear production plans so that objectives can be met.
- Undertake manual loading, unloading and curing of all parts/components in accordance with specifications.
- Watch the keeping of industrial machinery to ensure operations are carried out correctly.
- Carry out the inspection of completed cure cycles and confirm that parts have passed or failed in accordance with specifications.
- TPM (General Maintenance) of all Autoclaves.
- Maintenance and testing of all vacuum pipes and thermocouples.
- Maintain compliance to all master processes and associated documents, therefore, ensuring industry standards are upheld in the production of components.
- Undertaking tasks delegated by the Team Leader, Value Stream Leader and/or Senior Management.
- Ensuring performance within the team remains a high standard.
- Monitoring and maintaining health and safety standards.
- To adhere to procedures which include Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (SQCDP).
- Regular upkeep of records and documentation.
- Undertaking training and development set by the Team Leader, Value Stream Leader and/or Senior Management. (Lean 101 Training, Code of Conduct and continuous professional development in accordance to any shortfalls within training matrices).
- To contribute and undertake 6S improvements.
- To support cost reduction initiatives by introducing new ideas or removing waste and non-value-added time or operations to increase profitability whilst maintaining compliance.
- To support the Team Leader, Value Stream Leader and/or Senior Management with the maintenance of skills planning and training matrices.

Working pattern:
- 4-day week Monday to Thursday 07:15 am to 5:00 pm totaling 37 hours weekly.
- Overtime is available from Friday to Sunday at premium rates of pay.
Benefits:
- Holidays start at 33 days per year (including Bank Holidays) pro rata for 4 days.
- Overtime rates after basic hours are 1.5 of your basic hourly rate, and Fridays and Saturdays
- Overtime rates for Sundays are 2.0 of your basic hourly rate.
