Location: Portsmouth area (Face to Face)

Salary: Between £20 000 and £32 000, depending on targets being reached

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Flexible hybrid work with the majority remote and some face to face

Join Study Tech, a company dedicated to supporting neurodivergent and disabled students in Higher Education. We are looking for an Assistive Technology Trainer to provide face-to-face and remote sessions and teach strategies for successful studying using assistive software. The role involves some travel, so get ready to explore new places while making a positive impact on students’ lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Higher Education students strategies for successful studying using assistive software in face-to-face sessions.
  • Empathise with and understand students’ needs, providing tailored teaching sessions to address their learning needs.
  • Utilise knowledge of IT and assistive software packages to teach students effectively.
  • Provide clear and concise reports within tight deadlines.
  • Think creatively and outside the box to offer appropriate solutions for individuals.
  • Present information clearly and adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs.
  • Motivate and encourage students to maximize their learning potential.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills, punctuality, professionalism, and dependability.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

  • Any degree level qualification.
  • Teaching experience and/or qualifications.
  • Knowledge or experience with both MAC and PC operating systems.
  • Knowledge of assistive software packages or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with mind mapping, text-to-speech, and voice recognition software.
  • Knowledge or capacity to learn Study Skills and techniques.
  • Prior knowledge or training in Ergonomics and Ergonomic Workplace Assessments.

Bonus Skills:

  • Full UK driving license.
  • Knowledge of specialist software packages (graphics, film, or music software).

Legal Requirements:

  • Candidates are required to have a CRB check.
