The Role:
We are currently looking for an Assistant Strategic Management Accountant, within our dynamic and supportive Finance team, on a Permanent Contract.
The Assistant Strategic Management Accountant will work to maintain accurate and appropriate finance records, such are required to meet the requirements on the contracts or grants through which work is funded, in addition to the requirements to meet the strategic and charitable objectives of the organisation. The successful candidate will prepare periodic financial statements, including but not limited to profit and loss accounts, costing models for bids/grants, cash flows, data analysis, and commentaries.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Support the Strategic Management Accountant & the bid team in bidding for other work
- Ensure Migrant Help policies and operating procedures are followed
- Compile financial and costing models as and when required for changes to contract / re tender
- Analyse financial performance information to advise on how to prevent problems, adapt to change and improve value
- Work closely with the Finance Analyst on volumes, data, and forecasting
- Support the budget process through meeting with operational colleagues, analysing information and proposing solutions
- Feedback to management on any arising financial issues
- Support longer term business planning through reporting and analysis
- Interpreting financial information to non-financial managers
- Implementing and monitoring controls for effectiveness
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- To cover absence for the Head of Finance, as required
Experience and skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills/ability to communicate with diverse groups
- Experience working in accounting and producing management accounts,
- Experience of working with stakeholders at all levels
- Exceptional IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Impeccable time management and organisation skills
