Job Title: Assistant Manager (Retail)

Salary: circa starting salary £22,000
Job Type: Full Time, 40 hrs, rota basis to be worked during Mon – Sun 9.00am – 5.30pm
Holidays: 28 days increasing to 31 with service (inc stats prov)

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join and support the team at our wonderful Rockshop attraction in Ambleside. We pride ourselves on showing a warm friendly welcome to all. Being part of the Rockshop Team you will deliver a unique, exciting interactive experience as we invite customers of all ages to jump in to our Gem Pit, take part in our very own Dinosaur Den themed treasure hunt, or to get creative in our Pippin Bead Bar.
This role is suited to someone who has experience in retail management and has proven customer care skills. You will have the chance to share your ideas and vision contributing to our continued growth whilst focussing on providing a unique customer experience.
Our world is full of Gemstones, Fossils, Crystals and Minerals and as a friendly family run business, Rockshop Ambleside works together with our Wholesale outlet that sources and imports our quality goods.
Main duties will include:
- Providing great service to our customers
- Meet & greet our customers
- Supervising customers involved in our interactive experiences
- Operating the tills & general retail duties
- Managing stock rotation
- Monthly stock counts
- Ensuring shop displays & merchandise are replenished, tidy, clean & gleaming
- Assisting and supporting the Shop Manager
Requirements:
- Customer care experience
- Friendly, welcoming & professional approach
- A positive, “can-do & will do” attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office & Excel
- Knowledge or experience of EPOS NOW would be good
