We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated, experienced individual, who has the appropriate skills to be part of this exciting journey. The ideal candidate will need to hold a professional qualification relevant to working with children, which must be at a minimum level three. In addition to this qualification, you must have experience working with children within a social care setting alongside experience of supervising staff.
As this is a new home, the successful candidate will be on board from the beginning and take a lead role in shaping and developing the home, its systems and procedures. This would ideally suit someone looking for a challenge to succeed and an opportunity to progress their career and instil their own vision, plans and ideas, whilst also promoting the ethos and vision of Walsall council.
The Role
Supporting the registered manager you will manage a team that will contribute to the day to day positive outcomes for children and young people across all areas of their development, encouraging children to develop a positive sense of self and individual identity. You will ensure the implementation of sound child care practices and ensure the application of professional standards, guidance and local policy and procedures.

Additional information:
This is a full time position and will involve working evenings and weekends and sleep in shifts alongside the staff team. You will be expected to undertake on call duties as part of a rota.
Important Information:
Our Residential Homes can accommodate children up to 18 years of age. Due to the nature of this post the Department for Education National Minimum Standards state that the employees must be 4 years older than the oldest resident. Therefore, applicants must be 22 years of age or older.
