Job Title: Assistant Accountant

King Lifting is a recognised provider of heavy lifting solutions including crane hire and plant and machinery movement across multiple industry sectors from depots across the UK. We are a family-owned business and proud of our brand, achieving 40 years of success within our sector.
Due to continued expansion within our business, we are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our busy finance team based at our Head Office in Avonmouth. This would be the perfect opportunity for someone who has accounting or book-keeping experience and is looking to take their next step on the progression ladder.
General responsibilities will include:
- Development of Management accounts & financials.
- Audit preparatory work with appropriate reconciliations and info packs.
- Provide support and input as necessary for completion of each monthly financial cycle.
- Improve & speed up monthly financial cycles.
- Ad Hoc Project work.
- Identification of weaknesses in procedures and controls, providing solutions.
- Liaison with all departments to ensure the financial impact of their activities is being recorded accurately.
- Provide general support to the Senior Management team and finance department colleagues.
- Assist with general day to day department admin & duties.
The ideal candidate will be naturally proactive and flexible in their approach and have full capability of working under pressure with oodles of confidence whilst supporting the Finance Director and Senior Management Accountants. Communication and organisation skills will be impeccable along with a proactive approach to problem solving. Excellent computer and excel skills are a must!
VAT / PAYE / Payroll experience would be preferable, but full training will be provided so an aptitude for learning with a positive, ambitious, and can-do attitude will take you a long way within our organisation. The opportunity for long term development will be made available for the right individual.
Consideration will also be given to candidates without this experience who are motivated and willing to learn with long term ambition.
