Job Title: Artisan Baker
Location: Greenwich, London
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Job Type: 45 hrs hours per week on rota basis including weekends and bank holidays.
Paul Rhodes Bakery is a multiple award-winning bakery who have been baking since 2003. We produce a wide range of handcrafted products including artisanal and classic breads, all butter vienoisserie, and a beautiful selection of cakes and pastry items, and deliver these everyday throughout the London region.
We supply directly to over 1000 businesses from famous names such as Dinner by Heston, Fortnum & Mason, Shangri-La Hotels, Youngs pubs, Google and OXO Tower, to name a few, as well as to office caterers, local delis, bakeries and cafes and many more.
As a business, we supply bakes for over 1,000 businesses across London like Dinner by Heston, Fortnum & Mason, Shangri-La Hotels, Youngs, 45 Park Lane, OXO, Mamma Mia, to name a few.
The role:
If you are a passionate, highly skilled Baker with experience in producing handcrafted artisan breads, then we have a fantastic opportunity as a skilled Artisan Baker at our Greenwich Bakery. As a baker within our Artisan team, you will be working predominantly with British grown, stoneground, organic flour, and most of the breads in this range are entirely naturally leavened.
The Candidate:
We want our bakery to be the very best and you and your role will be an integral part in this journey with us. This role would be perfect for a skilled baker who is hungry for a new challenge and is eager to take the next step in their career. The role will involve making traditional sourdough breads along with other long fermentation products using heritage grains and stone ground flours giving the opportunity to learn and develop new skills and knowledge.
Must have Artisan Baker experience and the right to work in the UK please.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience in mixing, scaling, shaping, and baking.
- Experience in working with long fermentation breads and sourdough products.
- Experience in working as part of a team to ensure all products are made to the right quality in line with orders daily.
- Be able to effectively communicate with others and work as part of a high performing team
- A pro-active personality – who is passionate, enthusiastic, people-focused and adaptable to all personalities
- Can-do attitude
- Organised and able to meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn and a hunger to develop their Artisan Bakery skills
- Follow and maintain adherence PRB processes and best practice
- Have a genuine interest and desire to be part of a high-volume bakery
