Job Title: Art and DT Technician
Location: Hatfield
Salary: £21,000 – £25,000 FTE per annum dependent on experience
Job Type: Part or Full time (15/22.5 hours) 2 years contract (Term Time)
Job Purpose:
These are two separate roles (Art Technician and a DT Technician) however if a candidate would like to apply for both, this can become a combined role.
Art technician – 15 hours: We are seeking to appoint a confident and skilled technician to join our busy Art Department. The ideal candidate will be able to work both as part of a team and unsupervised, with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a genuine interest in creative subjects and helping young people.
DT Technician – 22.5 hours per week: We are seeking to appoint a confident and skilled technician to join our busy Design & Technology (DT) Department. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge and experience of DT H&S matters and procedures and the ability to maintain general tidiness of equipment, tools, materials and organising the DT rooms.
Main Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Art and DT Technician will include supporting academic staff, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for students, and contributing to the overall organisation and cleanliness of both the Art and DT spaces. The successful candidate(s) should have a solid understanding of Design & Technology health and safety protocols and possess the capability to maintain order in the equipment, tools, and materials used across both departments.
Effective communication skills and a sincere passion for fostering creativity in young minds are essential. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
