Web app and mobile app developer (Mid-level): This Jewellery Quarter based business are a well-established web and app development agency specialising in apps, portals and software as a service product. You will be working on a wide range of web and mobile app projects for a variety of clients across different sectors ranging from innovative start-ups to established businesses.
Due to Covid, you may be required to work several months from home until the company decides it is Covid-safe for the team to return to work in its Jewellery Quarter offices. Your safety is their number one priority! Interviews will also be conducted in a Covid-secure way.

Job Role:
They are looking for a Mid-Level Developer to join their team. You’ll be working in the team on web app and mobile app projects ranging from innovative start-ups looking to launch market-changing new products, through to established businesses seeking to grow, or make process improvements, by implementing new, digital app-strategies.
Most of the projects you will work on will involve programming using React or React Native JavaScript frameworks on the frontend which involve the familiar HTML/CSS/JS stack.
On the backend, you will be using PHP frameworks such as Laravel and Yii2, or occasionally NodeJS, along with SQL to create RESTful APIs and data management systems. Projects are version controlled using GIT.
This is not a junior role and if invited to interview then you will be asked to demonstrate your coding ability by describing examples of your past work. However, if you are currently a junior developer and feel you are ready to be a mid-level developer due to the skills and commercial experience you’ve acquired, and can demonstrate those skills, then please do apply.
To be considered you will need:
- Consider your skill level to be that of a mid-level developer.
- To be able to demonstrate you are proficient in working within at least one established development framework, either front-end or back-end.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- JavaScript and PHP (or NodeJS) development skills and experience.
- Understand MVC programming principles.
- Experience using software version control, such as GIT or SVN.
- Familiarity creating and/or integrating with JSON REST API’s.
Though experience using the exact-same technology stack and frameworks is desirable (including React, React Native, Laravel or Yii2), the company understands that other factors better determine your skill level than box-ticking on technology experience. The company is most interested in you being able to prove that you can demonstrate your coding ability and ability to learn the technology stack that they use quickly.
