What does an Advanced Practitioner do at Hillingdon?
Are you a highly skilled and experienced social worker looking for a new challenge in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment? The London Borough of Hillingdon is seeking an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join our Adults MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of vulnerable adults in our community.
As an Advanced Social Work Practitioner in our Adults MASH team, you will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Demonstrate skilled use of a range of frameworks for decision making, assessment, and intervention.
- Prepare court proceeding reports, acting as an expert testimony in Care or Private Order proceedings.
- Demonstrate awareness and compliance with required standards, including the Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework (Experienced Social Worker level).
- Provide professional leadership to social work colleagues by demonstrating exemplary practice, sharing knowledge, and managing the interface between practice and education/training.
- Manage a social work caseload of the most complex cases.
- Provide professional practice supervision, coaching, and mentoring to other Social Workers, ensuring practice is informed by research and encouraging critical reflective practice and continuous professional development.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
Qualifications:
- Professional Social Work Degree or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification in relevant SW discipline
- Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS stage 1 and 2)
Experience:
- A range of post-qualifying experience including work with adults, their families, and carers
- Experience of developing practice and improving practice within own, and partner agencies
- Experience of building and managing successful teams
- Experience of working with multi-agency partners to deliver successful outcomes
- Experience of using innovative and effective approaches to complex problems
Knowledge & Skills:
- Detailed understanding of MASH legal framework and assessment process
- Ability to write reports to a high standard
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver improved outcomes for residents
- Ability to analyse a wide range of data and present findings to a variety of audiences, using the information to drive improvement
- Excellent ICT skills including the ability to learn and use service-specific software
