Job Type: Part Time, Permanent

Hours: 24 hours a week working 3 out of the 7 operational days of the week (usually Monday, Thursday, and Friday). Hours are 8am to 4.30pm, 9am to 5.30pm and 10am to 6.30pm.

Fodder sells the very best food and drink from Yorkshire; with a fully stocked butchery counter, a deli counter laden with fresh pies, pasties and amazing cheese. Fruit and veg straight from the farms and lots of lovely jams and chutneys alongside freshly baked local bread and mouth-watering cakes. Fodder also has a lovely cafe which serves everything from a full Yorkshire Breakfast through to cream teas and an extensive lunch menu.

All the profits from Fodder go to the charitable work of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS). Fodder is 10 years old and celebrates and sells the very best of Yorkshire food and drink, with sales in excess of £3m per annum.

About the role:

We’re currently looking for an Admin Assistant to efficiently manage the administration tasks of running Fodder.

This is an office-based job and requires someone with fantastic organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, good customer service skills and the ability to keep a small office tidy!

Responsibilities:

  • To work as part of our team covering the full range of admin tasks in Fodder Office, from sorting invoices to sourcing the best packaging and everything in between
  • Manage the admin tasks for new starters pulling together the induction packs and training requirements
  • To help maintain up to date records of staff hours and holidays
  • Answer telephone calls, emails and reviews
  • Answer the door to deliveries and take in deliveries as required
  • To undertake cashing up
  • To process orders for Fodder and ensure Eureka (stock system) is kept up to date by booking in stock and matching invoices
  • Pull all the data together for monthly stock takes and end of month reports
  • Be the main point of contact in Fodder with the accounts department
  • Input and despatch loyalty card applications
  • Order Stationery and control stocks of packaging/till rolls, disposables, cleaning products etc.
  • Manage ticket sales for all Fodder events and manage all on-line orders for hampers, vouchers etc.
  • To provide any other help that is required in either the office or the public areas of Fodder
  • Manage the information on the staff notice board
  • Liaise with YAS Receptionists and Chefs regarding lunch provision for conferences at YAS
  • Manage all Fodder customer enquiries and special orders
  • Manage and organise regularly any ad-hoc maintenance jobs
  • Any other appropriate duties which may be added from time to time – we need a true team player

About you:

  • Must be competent on Excel and Word and have good understanding of these packages – training will be given in Eureka software
  • Good written and oral communication skills are crucial. Good customer service skills are vital to deal with customers both over the phone and via email and deal with questions from senior managers, customers and the general public
  • Must be efficient and organised and be able to work under pressure and also have the ability to plan ahead
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and calmly
  • Ability to handle cash accurately
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with enthusiasm and judge what the key priorities are on an hourly/daily/weekly basis
  • Ability to cope with interruptions and still focus on the tasks that need completing
  • Great team player

  • Ability to keep confidential information confidential
