Job Title: Accounts & Payroll Assistant

Job Type: Part Time – 15 Hours per Week – Flexible
We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to support our continued growth and development. Your role will involve development and optimisation of the accounting practices including implementation of Xero and Xero Payroll.
A flexible and inquisitive approach to your work will be required as we are a company offering a diverse range of services to trusted clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Ledger
- Purchase Ledger
- Bank Reconciliations
- Payroll
- Batching of Orders
- Preparation of Financial KPI reports
- Management of Expenses.
- VAT Returns
- Month end management accounts
You will:
- Alert other Team members to issues of quality and risk
- Assess your own performance and take accountability for your own actions, either directly or under supervision.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the Team by reflecting on your own and Team activities and making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance the Teams’ performance.
- Work effectively with individuals both within Silver EMS Ltd and our Client groups to meet business needs.
- Effectively manage your own time, workload and resources.
- Recognise the importance of effective communication within the business recognizing people’s needs for alternative methods of communication and responding accordingly.
- Apply high personal standards, policies, protocol and guidance within the business.
- Discuss with other Team members, how standards, policies, protocol and guidance will affect your own and the workload of others within the business and react accordingly to improve service provision.
- Assist in promoting and maintaining your own and others’ health & safety and security as defined in the Silver EMS Ltd Health & Safety Policy, to include, but not limited to:
- Acting on knowledge and sharing knowledge of health & safety potential risks to ensure that immediate and long-term risks are addressed.
- Undertake available training and research to enhance personal and professional development and actively seek development opportunities for your continued growth within the business
- Undertake any mandatory training as required and directed by Silver EMS Ltd.

Skills and Qualifications:
- AAT Level 4
- Payroll (CIPP Technician or similar)
Key competencies and experience:
- Copious knowledge of Xero & Xero Payroll
- Be diligent and accurate in your work.
- Be adaptable and able to develop your skills in line with the company’s development.
- A genuine interest in business and finance
- An honest and discreet attitude when dealing with company accounts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
