An expanding firm of specialist CIS (construction industry scheme) accountants are currently seeking an accounts and tax assistant to join their office in North West London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established progressive firm offering a great opportunity to develop your career and or training.
Job Role:
Working as part of a small team and reporting to the manager you will be responsible for preparing tax returns and the accounts for sole traders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with relevant manager and client to plan assignments
- Assist junior staff and trainees
- Liaise with clients and HMRC
- Manage and control your own job clients
- Finalise files for managers to review
The Candidate:
- Familiarity with Excel and Office
- Familiarity with Iris Self-Assessment software. (this can be taught, however experience of similar software would be desirable)
- Thorough knowledge of the CIS system (Construction Industry Scheme)
- A good understanding of double entry bookkeeping
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of the UK Tax System including capital Allowances / Pension Reliefs
- Basic accounts preparation experience
- Experience in liaising with HMRC
- Availability to work at least 2 in 4 Saturdays a month (half day)
