Job Title: Service Engineer

Ashbrook are looking for a keen service engineer, fitter, technician to join our team in Warrington. Our fleet consists of market leading brands in plant, access and agricultural machinery. It is regularly renewed to ensure that you will be working with the best available technology and presented with straight forward engineering challenges.
The business you’d be joining is a dynamic plant, access and agricultural machinery hire company. We have the latest, top of the range machinery and our skilled and respected team ensure that it is maintained to the highest possible standard.
We have been trading for over 20 years and employ approx. 80 people in our two depots. In fact, we’re one of the top hire firms in the country.
The Role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone who is either mechanically minded or already has experience within the engineering/mechanical sector or someone who is looking for something a little different.
A CAP assessed access engineer would be preferable but not essential as training will be provided. If you have a great attitude and are willing to learn, this could be the role for you.
Reporting directly to the depot service manager, as a service engineer for Ashbrook Warrington Ltd, you will be part of a robust team in a busy environment ensuring all machines are inspected and repaired as needed for our customers to use.

Responsibilities:
- Repair machines at the depot as required ensuring manufacturers specification and company guidelines are followed
- Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of machines as required in conformance with manufacturers specification, company policy and the regulations affecting the use of the machines, ensuring there is no deficiency likely to affect the safe working of the machine, notify the relevant manager of the defective or unsafe equipment
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities including maintaining the appearance of the fleet to corporate standard
- Act as an ambassador for the company providing a high standard of customer vision and being polite at all times
- Accurately complete all relevant paperwork including engineer’s reports, off hire, pre-delivery inspection and service sheets
- Support the service manager / yard supervisor with running the depot safely, efficiently and effectively
About You:
- Preferred but not essential – relevant general engineering maintenance qualification, preferably to NVQ L3 or equivalent
- CAP card holder. (Preferred but not essential)
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience in diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics and diagnostic fault finding
- Mature outlook and the ability to communicate and work well under pressure
- Strong understanding of the importance of excellence in engineering to high quality customer service
