The role:
We seek to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant to support a named Year 8 child. The person appointed will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and have the ability to work as part of a team and to use their own initiative when appropriate. Experience of working with pupils with additional needs is advantageous but not essential.
Key Tasks:
- Work with a named child on teacher-directed activities and provide feedback to the Teacher.
- Facilitate progress towards specific outcomes outlined in the child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- To maintain notes, observations and other records, as directed, concerning the child
- To work with the child in a planned way individually, in a small group, or as part of the larger class.
- Provide adult facilitated play opportunities as required.
- Foster the child’s personal, social, emotional and cognitive development.
- Participate in all relevant meetings; whole school, departmental or other.
General Tasks:
- Promote excellence in all respects.
- Support the use of reward and sanction procedures to ensure good discipline.
- To be aware of and follow the school’s safeguarding procedures.
- To be mindful of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other legislative requirements at all times.
- To be aware of and adhere to the school code of conduct and confidentiality.
