Job Title: Business Manager

Location: Dover (Hybrid)

Salary: £34,712 per annum

Job Type: Full time, 9 month fixed term maternity cover

Closing Date: 18th June 2024

Clear Voice are currently looking for a Business Manager to join our collaborative and welcoming team, on a Fixed term contract.

The successful candidate will be organised and innovative, have demonstrable working knowledge of business operations and be passionate about protecting our vulnerable clients.

About the Role:

As the Business Manager, you will play a key role in the planning, development, and execution of cross-functional business initiatives within Clear Voice. You will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and oversee various aspects of business operations, including project management, communications and engagement, and contribute to improving overall organisation efficiency.

As the Business Manager your duties would include:

  • Represent the CEO internally on designated projects
  • Assist the CEO and Chair of MHTL to fulfil governance and fiduciary responsibilities to the Board of Directors, sub-committees and working groups
  • Provide support with diary management and scheduling of key meetings, and support of meetings, organisation and set-up, preparing and distributing papers in advance, taking notes of key points and actions for meetings, circulating afterwards
  • Support and lead elements of the annual operational planning, encompassing corporate strategy execution, budget, and HR requirements
  • Oversee the progress against milestone execution for strategic projects and evaluate departmental progress against operating plans and resolve issues or escalate as appropriate
  • Manage employee activities such as Staff Conferences and Team Building Events, providing suitable resources
  • Build and nurture international relationships with customers, fostering collaboration and success
  • Monitor strategic progress and facilitating action plans and course corrections
  • Assess organisation effectiveness through departmental reporting
  • Identify and address points of disconnect to ensure organisational cohesion
  • Social Impact Measurement and Reporting: Learn how to assess and report on the social and environmental impact of the organisation’s activities. Understand the importance of transparency and accountability in the social enterprise sector. Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating the positive outcomes of our initiatives

The experience and skills you need:

  • Higher level education, or equivalent, with experience or knowledge of business administration, social entrepreneurship, sustainability, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience providing high quality service to internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to present to groups.
  • Attention to detail – diligently ensure accuracy and precision in all aspects of work.
  • A passion for the social enterprise’s mission and a commitment to social and environmental impact

What else to expect:

  • Our Clear Voice department is open Monday to Friday; you will work hours between 8am and 5.30pm. There may be occasion where you need to work outside your contracted hours and therefore flexibility is required
  • This is a hybrid role, there may need a need to attend the office in Dover on occasion, the remainder of your time can be home working
  • We are looking for the successful candidate to start with us 15 July 2024
