Butterworth Laboratories is a busy contract analytical laboratory working primarily for the pharmaceutical industry. The company is independent and prides itself in providing a high quality, reliable analytical service to its clients.
The role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Analytical Chemist to join the HPLC team in our Chromatography Lab on a full-time permanent basis. In this role, you will responsible for testing raw materials, API and finished products to in-house or published methods. You will ensure results are generated in a timely manner and meet regulatory standards.
Required role specific training will be provided.
Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Work in our Chromatography laboratory using principally HPLC equipment, but also other techniques, including Gas Chromatography, Ion Chromatography, elemental analysis, TOC and TLC.
- Comply with Company regulations including in-house health and safety, GMP, GLP and UKAS Quality requirements.
- Complete all analytical work within required timeframes in a fast-paced and challenging environment with numerous competing deadlines.
Required experience / qualifications:
- Educated to degree standard in chemistry or a related subject
- Experience working in a laboratory performing HPLC analysis
Additional knowledge / experience that would be advantageous:
- Experience in a Pharmaceutical QC laboratory working to GxP standards.
- Experience of other QC analytical techniques such as titration, gravimetry and uv spectrometry
- Experience using Chromeleon data system
