Job Title: Production Shift Manager

Location: London, SW8 4DF (Office based)

Salary: £27,000.00 – £30,000.00 per year depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary contract (6-month contract), temporary role can turn into a permanent position

Working Schedule: Monday – Friday, from 14:30 to 23:00

About the role:

  • To manage the production operation, during the production shift
  • Supervision of production work including scheduling, and ensuring products are completed on time and to QMS Standards
  • To ensure that the quantity and quality of cheese are produced in line with the daily/weekly schedules

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Completion of tasks promptly and effectively
  • Development of good working relationships with all staff/departments
  • Swift implementation of preventative actions
  • Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet all customer expectations, food safety requirements and QAS product standards
  • Use processing equipment, for which you are trained, to carry out production functions
  • Supervisory support for all production workers
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety and Quality instructions
  • Ensure that all staff assigned to you are trained to the correct level and work safely and efficiently
  • Maintain morale at a high level and assist in motivation
  • Cover production management absences
  • Monitor the production schedule and prioritise job orders, relay this to the production operatives
  • Maintain production schedule and other reports as required, regularly attending meetings and reporting production matters
  • Be a member of the HACCP team, and understand the objectives and requirements of the Quality Management system
  • Work closely and support the Technical team to ensure that the production quality and safety objectives are met
  • Complete status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory in a morning meeting with the Managers/supervisors
  • Monitor and revise current practices, looking at new ways to improve and develop production
  • Ensure company compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines for food safety, food hygiene, Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality
  • Ensure production staff complete all production documentation fully and live data is recorded
  • Advise your line management of staff who deserve praise or conversely are not performing to the required standard
  • Assist in employee relation matters
  • Ensure that all equipment within your department is either serviceable or reported to the Maintenance department
  • Ensure that Kerridge Commercial System (K8) is updated quickly and accurately in full throughout the day
  • Full understanding of all machinery within the production areas
  • Reasonable ad hoc requests

About You:

  • Experienced in similar Food Production (preferred)
  • Leadership: 1 year (preferred)
  • Industrial equipment/engineering: 1 year (preferred)

  • Experience working in an FMCG environment
