The Role
As our Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for providing commercial support including assisting in developing commercial strategy for specific projects by.
You will be expected to:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labour, and other related expenses.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and work closely with project managers to ensure financial targets are met.
- Contract Administration: Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are favourable and align with project requirements. Provide contractual advice to project teams.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties related to cost factors and propose effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Quantity Take-off: Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities to support accurate project cost planning.
- Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities without compromising quality or project objectives.
- Cost Reporting: Generate regular reports on project costs, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.
- Variation Analysis: Assess and manage variations to the contract, ensuring proper documentation and negotiation of changes.
Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 17:00 pm.
The Candidate
To be considered for our Quantity Surveyor role, you will have the following skills and experience:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Membership in a relevant professional body is an advantage.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of M & E systems and installations.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and relevant legislation.
Skills
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as cost estimation and project management software.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working
relationships with internal and external stakeholders - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- To be able to work as part of a team
- It is a requirement that a valid full clean driving licence is maintained.
