Job Title: Vehicle Mechanic / Technician Level 2 or Level 3

Location: Orpington

Salary: £25k – £31k per annum

Job type: Full Time – Permanent.

Crown Garage is uniquely situated next to Orpington Rail and Bus Station, enabling convenient links to London and local destinations allowing it’s customer base to travel to and from the garage easily. Many customers use this convenience and have their cars serviced and MOT’d while they commute to the City, with the opening hours from 8-6pm on weekdays, most lose very little work time!

The business originally started in Chiselhurst over 30 years ago, next to the Crown Public House and has been in it’s current location for nearly 15 years. Although it’s core business is vehicle Servicing, Repairs and MOT’s, it does sell used vehicles covered by RAC warranties and can arrange finance on a variety of vehicles. Finding vehicles for customers is a speciality, using the customers requirements and budget guidelines, a selection of vehicles are identified through a number of different sources.

Our technicians have huge experience in diagnostic and repair of motor vehicles. Using established processes and with the help of the latest Computer Diagnostic System, we are able to identify the cause of most problems and plan the most cost effective way of repairing vehicles, keeping the customer involved every step of the way!

We are looking for a Vehicle Mechanic / Technician to join our team.

This role has a number of responsibilities that we know you will achieve and exceed as a member of our family.

  • You will inspect and diagnose any work required on a variety of cars and vans to the high standards you have become known for.
  • You will discuss with customers, any required work that needs carried out and the customers will know they are in safe hands.
  • You will calculate the expected time needed to carry out any work and provide a cost for this work.
  • You will complete job write up sheets and send technical bulletins.
  • You will repair or replace components and leave the vehicle working as good as new.
  • You will carry out a road test to make sure the repairs have fixed the issue.
  • You will fit vehicle accessories including immobilisers, alarms, and stereos.
  • You will perform service checks and vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil and air filter changes.
  • You will work in a clean and tidy workplace because you and your work colleagues will keep it that way.
