About the role:
This is an exciting, brand-new post that will enable SJMT to directly deliver services to children and young people for the first time in over 60 years. Over the past 12 months, we have invested in independent research, involving young people, commissioners, and front-line workers in order to identify how we could respond to gaps in local provision whilst making a lasting impact on the lives of young people.
It is now time to bring that research to life and we are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate worker who will work alongside our Young Peoples Manager to pilot our new and innovative service.

- Identify, support and prepare young people to participate in SJMT beyond the Shine Project to steer policy, plans and reports
- Have the ability to support, challenge and actively involve young people, families or professionals appropriately and successfully support processes to match young people to volunteer mentors
About you:
You will need to be able to:
- Work creatively and flexibility
- Be values driven and offer relational support
- Be available to young people to discuss worries, celebrate achievements and have positive impact on their life
- Identify the needs of young people after referral and hold a caseload of young people who require intensive support
- Engage young people, understand their starting points, and support them to take ownership of their hopes and plans
- Keep accurate records especially relating to the safety and wellbeing of young people and capturing their progress and achievements
Who are you?
- A creative and determined individual who is passionate about doing the right thing for young people.
