Job Title: Admissions & Enrolment Officer

Location: Highbury Campus, Portsmouth

Salary: £24,023 – £25,293 (Full-Time Equivalent)

Job Type: Part Time, Permanent, 33.5 Hours per week, 52 Weeks per year

About the role:

A truly rewarding opportunity has arisen and we need someone with passion, drive and enthusiasm to make a difference at City of Portsmouth College (CoPC).

The ideal candidate for this post is an individual with a strong background in the delivery of information, advice and guidance (IAG) in a busy working environment. The Admissions & Enrolment Officer has a key, customer-focused role in recruitment processes for all new students at the College.

This role will include support for prospective students, parents and other stakeholders when starting the application process with us. You will also be responsible for organising the admissions interviewing diary for teaching and support staff within your allocated curriculum areas. We are driven to provide excellent customer service in a friendly and welcoming manner to all of our current and future students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide a high quality, easily accessible admissions process for all applicants
  • To adhere to the College’s Admissions Policy
  • Acquire a depth of knowledge (with regular monitoring to keep abreast of changes) of courses/Apprenticeships, qualifications, entry requirements and admissions procedures
  • Communicate effectively by email, telephone, online chat and in person to applicants, students, internal/external stakeholders, and parents
  • Process applications for all levels of study and course type using the College’s Management Information Systems
  • To manage individual caseload of applicants to ensure a seamless student journey from application to enrolment
  • Consider applications individually according to specified entry criteria. This includes reviewing predicted/actual grades, identifying support needs and criminal convictions and making necessary referrals
  • To manage the Next steps review process for your caseload of existing students to support progression and maximise retention/growth
  • Prioritising 16-18yr olds to reduce the number of young people Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET)
