Position Overview:
Reporting to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, the primary role is to work with the departmental engineer on installation, repair the sections machinery and upkeep functions of the company’s facilities.
The goal is to ensure the company machinery and facilities are well-cared for and adequate to support the company’s business operations. The production process and procedures can be varied in complexity and length. It is important that the candidate can adapt their style and approach in line with the roles requirements and to ensure that Thames Technology is the first port of call for all card production, secure production, and departmental procedure needs.
The Role:
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Working alongside the Manufacturing Engineer to deliver electrical and mechanical maintenance of all site equipment to standard and in good time
- Support the production team with electrical troubleshooting and repair
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on production machinery and equipment
- Carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance, as instructed
- Identify and rectify faults efficiently to minimize downtime and optimize productivity
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment condition
- Continually striving to improve efficiencies/working conditions within the department
- Working effectively with all team members in sustaining delivery performance & continually improving performance
- Involvement with print finishing functions
- Adhere to all documented Company Quality Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures when carrying out operational duties
The Person:
- Relevant engineering qualification (City and Guilds preferred)
- Experience of working in a production/manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical skills with expertise in 3-phase systems, motors, sensors, inverters, relays, PLCs, and fault finding
- Competent in mechanical repairs and maintenance, including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding
- Flexibility to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
- Support the production team with electrical troubleshooting and repair
- Excellent communication skills
- Well organised
- Production and work quality standards should be consistently high
