Purpose of the Role:
To pro-actively handle technical and complex Third Party injury cases in an efficient and effective manner in order to achieve business objectives and meet the defined customer service proposition.
Main Duties:
- To contribute to the delivery of the key performance targets by achieving own objectives effectively e.g. productivity, leakage, budget and service targets
- To handle and resolve complex technical cases or referrals and/or complaints within own authority limit
- To gather and accurately analyse appropriate information in order to make the best business decision aligning with the total and /or partial resolution of Third Party`s needs
- To take proactive steps to effectively deal with claimants solicitors in order to achieve overall team objectives
- To provide guidance and support to others in the team so that overall team effectiveness is enhanced
- To follow agreed processes, policies and procedures to ensure quality and service standards are met and leakage is minimised
- To undertake activities for the team as delegated by the team leader where required in his/her absence to ensure that team performance is maximized
- Good understanding of Personal Injury pre-action protocol and claims procedures, products and services
- Taking a commercial attitude to deliver the optimum savings and time to settle.
- To comply with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Experience of working within an Legal/Insurance environment handling RTA/EL/PL third party injury claims
- Knowledge/experience of claims handling with an “enabling” case management system
- Understanding of damages awards research tools
- Takes the initiative to ensure that problems are resolved quickly
- Ability to take a proactive results oriented claims approach
- Experience working within agreed authority levels which have involved settlement delivery options available
- Demonstrate a commercial attitude showing ability to deliver the optimum savings and time to settle.
- Proven ability making decisions on legal liability, assessment of damages
- Flexible and team player with limited direct supervision
- Proven ability to build relationships with others
- Is able to convey by telephone and written communication complex issues in a straightforward, clear and easily understood manner.
- Confident communicator both verbally and in writing
- Select appropriate solutions and have working knowledge of how they are delivered
