The Role:

The Technical Service Engineer will be required to undertake Post Design Services Tasks as determined by UK MoD. Perform breakdowns, functioning, detailed analysis and report writing. Undertake small scale manufacturing assembly in support of product development programmes. Support In Service Surveillance, Product Life-extension and IM testing activities. Support the Test House Team conducting environmental testing on products in accordance with customer specifications, while upholding the quality standards defined within ISO17025.

The responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Undertake PDS Tasks, In-Service-Surveillance and Life Extension Tasks, inclusive of breakdown, functioning, analysis and disposal.
  • Preparation and maintenance of Risk Assessments, Work Instructions associated to PDS Facility and individual Tasks.
  • Undertake small scale manufacturing assembly in support of Post Design and Product Development tasks.
  • Maintain a Daily Logbook and provide progress updates to support department weekly reports.
  • Support the Test House Team as and when required covering all aspects of environmental testing.
  • Preparation and maintenance of Risk Assessments, Test Instructions associated to the Test House.
  • Produce comprehensive written reports for release to External Customers including UK MoD.

Technical Service Engineer Specification:

  • HNC (Level 4) in Engineering or similar discipline (desirable)
  • Ability to obtain SC clearance (lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years) (essential)
  • Basic Knowledge of Pyrotechnic, Propellant and Explosive Engineering (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated environment. (desirable)
  • Experience working within a Test House environment / Laboratory (desirable)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, in particular MS Word and MS Excel (essential)
  • Report writing (essential)

This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:45 and Friday 08:00 – 12:30. Flexibility in this role is critical to the success of supporting the team.
