Job Title: Garment Technologist – Ladies Clothing
Salary: £20,000 – £30,000 dependent on experience
Based: North London
Key Responsibilities:
- Measuring, assessing and fitting samples prior to fit sessions and to ensure quality standards are adhered to
- Managing Customer fit sessions to ensure accuracy of information and product
- Internally fit product for all self-approving Customers and reporting back to the department Garment Technologist with comments
- Providing clear instructions to overseas factories with amendment images/drawings where necessary
- Approve grading based on the customer’s grading rules
- Managing test reports and working with factories to improve standards. Approving fabric testing and care labels
- Managing product development in line with critical path- monitoring and updating product status
- Check the inspection reports from our QC team overseas
- Resolve any issues with the sales/ production team
- Checking fabrics and trims on Production Samples to ensure they are within approved quality and appearance
- Participating in weekly production meetings with Production Manager
- Having overall responsibility for the development of garments from order through to production ensuring they perform to customer spec and quality
- Good knowledge about pattern cutting and amendments
- Good knowledge about the construction of the garment
- Working closely with the design department
The Candidate:
- Well organised and methodical approach to work, driven by attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure and adapt to the task at hand
- Exemplary communication skills
- Knowledge of techniques and type of stitching in order to improve the overall wear and tear
- Good understanding of grading
- Experienced in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel
- 2 years minimum work experience as a garment tech
