The Role
As a trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for making sure costs are kept to a minimum with margins improving in timely manner. Delivering profitable projects while protecting company interests all while maintaining a professional approach.
Main Responsibilities
- Working to value variations, prepare and agree Valuations.
- Managing subcontract packages.
- Analysing and negotiating subcontracting orders.
- Regularly preparing Cost and Value reports.
- Valuing and issuing correct notices to Subcontractor applications.
- Working on Construction contracts in public and private sectors and also B&E Boys’ own Developments
- Having involvement with Tenders.
The Ideal Candidate
- Whilst not essential, a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a busy construction company is preferred.
- Good Commercial and Contractual awareness to manage day-to-day issues, particular experience with JCT suite of contracts is important
- Good GCSE and A-Level grades
- Excellent Outlook, Excel, Word and numerical skills
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be enthusiastic and comfortable to work within a team environment.
- Must have Full Driving Licence or in the process of attaining it
