Salary: £63,684 – £68,067 per annum

What does a Senior SEND and Inclusion Commissioner do at Hillingdon?
Here in Hillingdon, we are ambitious for our children and young people with additional needs. Therefore, we are looking to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated individual to work within our SEND and Inclusion Service. We have recently re-organised and this is a newly created role within the service.
The Senior SEND and Inclusion Commissioner will support the SEND Service on the development of the London Borough of Hillingdon (LBH) SEND Sufficiency Strategy for the development and placement of SEND pupils in and out of borough. We have an ambitious programme of school development over the next five years, which you will be involved with.
You will work in partnership with Delivery Managers to deliver the organisational vision and outcomes through integrated planning and the flexible use of resources. You will lead on securing best value from all SEND placements in independent and out of borough provision, through contract management and monitoring performance of placements.
You will lead on strategies to ensure that pupil placement needs are met in borough working in partnership with colleagues in Education, Health and Social Care. This will include strategies to reduce the number and costs of pupils placed out of borough and placed in independent settings. You will work to develop strong relationships with parent carers and other partners in achieving best use of resources.
About you:
- You will have a in depth understanding of commissioning and how it improves outcomes for children and young people with SEND and/or Health needs and their families and stakeholders.
- You will be committed to partnership working and be able to work across with Senior Leaders across organisations, primarily within education
- You will have demonstrable experience of co-production with children, families and stakeholders.
- You will be able to evaluate the impact of strategic commissioning and be experienced in resource and financial management
- You will be skilled in being able to analyse data which is used to inform the planning and commissioning of services.
