As our new Director of Public Health at Norfolk County Council, you’ll lead improvements for better health and wellbeing for our residents and visitors to the county. You’ll target and make tangible progress in addressing our most challenging health inequalities. You’ll have a strong motivation to work in partnership to across our system to lead and improve health outcomes and protect our communities from public health hazards.
Reporting directly to the Director of Adult Social Services (DASS), you will hold a significant corporate and system role and will have direct access to the Chief Executive. You will provide expert advice and guidance to the Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, our Executive Leadership Team, senior managers and elected members and work with partners across the public, private, and voluntary sectors, driving forward a broad range of health improvement programmes. As DPH you will play a key role in driving prevention and health inequalities actions with our Integrated Care Board (ICB) partners and across our system.

This is a great opportunity for a strategic leader to bring and develop their extensive experience, skills and knowledge in a supportive and ambitious environment. You’ll be leading the strategic development, implementation, and delivery of our public health agenda, with the scope to have a positive and real impact across a large county with a population of over 920,000.
You must be a registered GMC, GDC or UKPHR public health specialist with significant experience in all areas of public health practice and knowledge of national and local public health policy and best practice.
