About the role:
As Quality Manager, you’ll be involved with directing the planning, coordination and control of all business accreditation, quality and training activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Authorise, update, administer, compile and review Quality policy and procedures.
- Review and audit quality procedures annually or earlier if necessary.
- Checking compliance with UKAS procedures in Laboratory. To provide clients with the best possible standards of service and quality at all times.
- To ensure and maintain company quality standards.
- To ensure proper training for the workforce.
- Ensuring tests and calibrations are carried out in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements.
- Ensuring laboratory records are in order.
- To plan and organise laboratory and site test/system audits.
- Check and update all technical documents used by the laboratory.
- To ensure labelling of equipment and samples are correctly maintained and to ensure ‘out of calibration’ labels are applied, and relevant equipment taken out of service.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Negotiating skills to convince managers of the need to implement and maintain quality standards.
- Patience and diplomacy because the profession requires a collaborative approach.
- An investigative mind.
- IT skills.
- Attention to detail.
- A flexible approach to work.
- 10 years’ experience of working in laboratory environment.
- 5 years’ experience managing 17025 accredited laboratories.
- Understands demands of 17025 accredited laboratories.
- Technical Understanding of construction testing.

Managing Director, Laboratory Director, Field Services Director, Technical Director, All Managers, All Technical and Administrative Staff.
