Job Title: Senior Curator of Collections & Research (Maternity cover)

Location: Henry Moore Foundation, Perry Green, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire SG10 6EE

(30 miles north of London, between London and Cambridge)

Salary: Circa £44,000 p.a. plus 3% pension contribution and other benefits

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract for maternity cover from mid-September 2023 to end March 2024 (may be subject to extension)

The Henry Moore Foundation was established by one of the great sculptors of the twentieth century. Today it is the largest artist-endowed grant-giving foundation in Europe.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in an important management role in a leading arts organisation, within a friendly and team-focused culture.

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Collections and Programmes, the post-holder will provide maternity cover for the substantive post holder, to oversee the care and presentation of the Foundation’s collection and archives at Perry Green and digitally; line manage five members of the curatorial team; and contribute to research activities on Henry Moore.

Person Specification:

Our ideal candidate will have a post-graduate qualification in history of art, museum studies or similar, plus minimum of 5 years’ experience in a curatorial role in a museum/gallery, with 3 years as a line manager, and an in-depth knowledge of 20th century art, ideally with a good knowledge of sculpture and a strong interest in Henry Moore. DBS clearance will be required. We are happy to consider some homeworking in this role and would consider offering a part time contract (minimum 4 days/28 hours/week) to a suitably qualified applicant.
