Job Title: Events Coordinator

Location: Manchester

Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 per year

Job Type: Permanent / Full-time – Working Hours – 36 hours a week over 4.5 days.

About the job:

We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our Marketing team as an Events and Community Coordinator.

Part of this role will be proactively monitoring and identifying events that have the potential to benefit our organisation, from both a B2B and B2C standpoint. You will be responsible for tracking, sourcing and managing all events, from sponsorship and speaking opportunities to networking and exhibiting opportunities.

The priority focus will be on B2B events, with the objectives of building brand awareness, developing a database of business leads and nurturing relationships. In addition, you will also be responsible for B2C events – fostering a sense of community amongst programme alumni and raising awareness of programmes amongst new potential learners with a focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

Opportunity and Event Management:

  • Research and identify relevant industry events, conferences, meetups, and exhibitions for participation and sponsorship.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, work with the Design team to coordinate booth/exhibitor space designs, sourcing materials, and timely delivery of materials.
  • Manage speaker engagements, including sourcing new opportunities, coordination, and logistics for both internal and external speakers.
  • Create and manage comprehensive slide decks and presentations for events.
  • Oversee general event logistics, such as registrations, travel arrangements, accommodation, and catering.
  • Attend events as a representative of our organisation, ensuring smooth execution and optimum networking opportunities.
  • Organise and manage internal events for clients and program alumni, including workshops, webinars, networking sessions, and social gatherings.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote internal events and ensure maximum attendance and engagement.

Community Building:

  • Develop and nurture our community of clients, program alumni, businesses, women in tech, and D&I groups.
  • Engage with community members through various channels, including online platforms, forums, and social media.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities, discussions, and knowledge sharing among community members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop initiatives that foster community growth and engagement.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing our organisation at community events and forums.

Database Building:

  • Utilise events as a platform to build a comprehensive database of business leads and potential new and existing relationships.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of contacts, interactions, and leads generated from events.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to leverage the database for lead nurturing and conversion.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

We value experience & achievements over formal qualifications.

  • Experience in event management, preferable (but not required) within the technology or education industry.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in researching and identifying relevant industry events and conferences.
  • Ability to manage event logistics, including vendor coordination, materials sourcing, and travel arrangements.
  • Experience in community management, including online platforms, forums, and social media.
