The role:
A qualified engineer (BEng minimum) that has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Heat Networks (HN) with a specific bias towards optimising the operation of these systems to deliver long-term benefits to the end users more than design. With a proven track record of managing installer to maintainer handover plus troubleshooting and the management of legacy issues.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Ensuring the Company delivers a service that represents “Good Industry Practice” (GIP) as Heat Network Operator (as generally referred to in CIBSE Heat Networks: Code of Practice for the UK CP1 2020)
- HN performance review, optimisation and Energy balance reporting. CHP performance
- Environmental impacts of the HN
- Working to PAS55, BSRIA Guide BG3, CIBSE CP1, CIBSE Guide M and SFG 20 as a minimum
- Energy forensics and tracking of energy
- Tariff calculations (both retrospective and budget) and customer reporting
- Attending meetings with Developers, Clients, Managing Agents and other stakeholders to discuss and review the performance of the HN
- Defining an ongoing strategy for plant replacement and justification
- Requirements under the Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations 2014 and amendments
- Water treatment regimes
- Heat and Cooling Network Acceptance Testing – Developer to Managing Agent handover
- Mentor and manage a graduate trainee energy engineer.

- District Energy Feasibility and Detailed Project Development
- Identifying, exploring and commercializing district energy network opportunities for a range of residentially managed buildings
- Our solutions look at deploying district heating, district cooling, renewable technologies and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
