JOB PURPOSE
- Champion and lead on social work values throughout Kisharon’s Adult Services including providing support to Kisharon’s Social Enterprises.
- Endorse and act in accordance with the principles of personalisation, ensuring that care and support are person-led and as far as possible put people in control of their lives.
- Provide specialist input as required, ensuring that Kisharon links internal and external agencies to support the needs of people who use our services.
- Offer support to families of people using our services as part of holistic interventions.
- Offer support to staff through specialist supervision groups.
- Lead on transition from young people and school services to adult services for those within the organisation and those seeking to join it.
- Influence service outcomes so that expectations of people we support and stakeholders are met or exceeded at all levels.
- Manage intake to all adult services via a single point of entry.
MAIN DUTIES
Leadership and Management
- Report at a senior level within the organisation and by doing so effectively influence organisational vision and development.
- Support the Director to develop the strategic direction for Kisharon’s Adult Services. Contribute to and influence overall development of services.
- Keep up to date with National and local policy, change and challenges, and ensure that Kisharon’s vision and strategy remain ahead of these.
- Ensure that staff are aware of local and national initiatives and how these impact on their work.
- Support and ensure the application of the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Best Interest Assessment across the organisation.
- Ensure that the views and experiences of people with learning disabilities and their families are fully considered in the planning and delivery of services.
- Perform technical tasks such as creation of documentation and oversee their implementation and absorption into the services.
- Support the Team in Adult Services to develop effective policies and procedures that influence and improve practice and outcomes.
