Job Title: Education and Training Lead (Youth Programme – South East of England)

Location: Home-based, with weekly travel to deliver programme activities within the South East region (Hampshire, West Sussex, East Sussex, Kent), with the occasional overnight stay

Salary: UK – £27,914, London & Surrounding Counties – £30,370

Job Type: Fixed-Term until 31 March 2024, with possibility of transition to permanent contract subject to funding.

Working Hours: 35

The Role

As an Education and Training Lead you will engage key stakeholders in your region, deliver accredited training to professionals, run interactive workshops with young people, deliver awareness sessions with parents/carers, and collaborate with your colleagues to ensure the ongoing improvement and success of the programme.

The role will be a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2024 to coincide with the funding for the current programme. Should GamCare secure further funding to extend the programme beyond April 2024 then a permanent contract offer is likely.

You will form part of an enthusiastic team who are committed to supporting young people affected by gambling-related harm across the United Kingdom, and work with a supportive programme leadership team. You might have a basic understanding of gambling harms, but if you have the enthusiasm to learn all about it in a non-judgemental way, we would like to hear from you.

Th Ideal Candidate

If you are skilled at engaging young people or facilitating training and can build strong relationships with stakeholders to generate interest in what our programme offers, then you might be exactly who we are looking for.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the promotion and delivery of activity for the Young People’s Gambling Harm Prevention Programme in your allocated region, working with a regional colleague to meet the regional targets of delivering to 3,000 young people and 650 professionals per year.

With demonstrable experience of championing, promoting, and marketing the work of a programme or service you will actively seek out opportunities in your region, maintain relationships with stakeholders through accurate and timely record keeping, and identify and secure future opportunities for programme delivery.

If you are passionate about preventing harm experienced by children and young people, enjoy working in a collaborative team environment but are comfortable working autonomously, then this role is for you.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with your regional colleagues to develop new and maintain existing relationships with key stakeholders, aiming to meet your collective regional targets and overall programme targets, whilst maximising opportunities across other GamCare programmes and treatment services.
  • Act as a frontline ambassador for GamCare, upholding our values and championing the organisation’s work through your interactions with external stakeholders.
  • Utilising your skills and experience in public speaking, presenting, and facilitating, deliver interactive and engaging sessions to young people, professionals, and parents/carers to raise awareness of gambling-related harm experienced by young people.
  • Ensuring the relevant monitoring and evaluation forms are provided and encouraging the completion of pre and post activity surveys to ensure the programme can evidence outcomes.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationship with your colleagues in the youth programme, our partner networks, and across GamCare to ensure a team culture of collaboration and ongoing improvement.
  • Share best practice and build a positive team environment, ensuring our stakeholders have a memorable experience, and we deliver the best possible programme.
