Job Title: Trustee
Location: Bristol
Salary: Voluntary – expenses are covered (travel, accommodation and food allowance).
Job type: Part-time. 8 hours a month on average.

Together for Short Lives is the UK charity to make sure the 99,000 seriously ill children and their families can make the most of every moment they have together – whether that’s for years, months or only hours.
We work with families and the brilliant people and services that support them – in hospitals, in children’s hospices and in the community – to ensure that children and families get the support they need.
About the role:
We are currently looking to add new members to our Board of Trustees. Specifically, we are seeking individuals who can bring financial expertise to our team. Role responsibilities:
- Overseeing the financial health of the organisation
- Ensuring our financial resources are used efficiently and effectively
- Assisting in strategic planning and decision-making at board meetings
- Serving on committees or task forces and taking on special assignments
- Advocating for and representing the organisation at external meetings and events
Desirable Skills:
- Finance background
- Social care, ideally supporting children and young people
- Experience and knowledge of children’s hospices
- Digital innovation and communication
- Understanding of charity governance
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- An interest in improving the lives of children with life-limiting conditions
- Our board meets four times a year, and trustees may also be asked to join one of our sub-committees, which meet quarterly
