Sir Josiah Mason Trust and Yardley Great Trust Group and are two historic and future focussed charities providing housing, care and support to people in need in the West Midlands. Over the past year, both Trusts have worked in greater partnership and this is an extremely exciting period of development for the Trusts. As such, we are seeking to appoint a Head of People.
The successful candidate will be employed by Sir Josiah Mason Trust but work across both Trusts.
About the role:
The Head of People is a senior role within the partnership, leading both strategic and operational HR matters across both Trusts.
They will lead for the Trusts people strategies, be responsible for strategic initiatives, as well as HR policies, expert professional advice to managers and staff and ensure effective HR and central administration.

About you:
We are looking for someone who has experience of working at senior level. They should have a CIPD Diploma Level 7 or equivalent and be a Chartered Member of CIPD. The successful candidate will be able to plan, co-ordinate and work under pressure as well as share our values.
This role is office based, working across a number of sites and therefore, you will be a car driver and regular access to own vehicle. There will be some opportunities for home working.
Essential Requirements:
Experience:
- Experience of operating at a Senior Management level.
- HR management experience including policy development, payroll, employee relations, staff development and recruitment.
- Advising managers on employment law issues such as disciplinary, absence, capability and grievances.
Qualifications:
- CIPD Diploma Level 7 or equivalent
- Chartered Member of CIPD
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
Skills:
- Able to plan, co-ordinate and work under pressure, whilst remaining professional.
- Able to lead and motivate others.
- Ability to manage difficult situations, working with staff to devise solutions.
- Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of legislation relating to Employment Law and data protection.
- High level of literacy and numeracy.
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience of budget management and able to participate in budget setting.
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Evidence of a caring, compassionate and empathetic nature
- Competent to support clients in a person-centred manner with excellent communication skills
- Courage to do the right thing for clients whilst respecting their individuality, dignity and personal choice
Other:
- Car driver and regular access to own vehicle
- Must be able to work flexibly over 7 days and 24 hours
- Must be able to work on-call as required
