Job Title: Training Co-ordinator

Location: Salford

Salary: Up to 24,000 (Flexible Depending on Experience)

Job type: Full Time Permanent

Hours of Work: You will be required to work 37.5 hours from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm though some flexibility may be required on occasion to meet the needs of the business.

Excalon is a privately owned company established in 2002. With recent new business wins with multiple major clients adding to our existing portfolio of framework agreements and ongoing Major Projects, this is a particularly exciting time to join our business.

The role:

Due to an increase in training volume, we have a new and exciting opportunity for a training co-ordinator to join the Excalon People Team. You will report to the Head of People and Development and co-ordinate all Company training and development activities.

You will be supported with training and development both on the job and through a Level 3 ‘Learning and Development Practitioner’ qualification.

The Candidate:

Most importantly, we are looking for a driven and enthusiastic individual who will work flexibly as part of a close knit and busy People team. An excellent communicator, the successful candidate will have the ability to build robust relationships with key stakeholders at all levels. You will be eager to learn and take responsibility for managing your own time and responsibilities.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience of managing mandatory training expiry and renewal
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong attention to detail – accurate record keeping.
  • Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to capture and manipulate data using Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work on own initiative whilst contributing to the wider team when required.
  • Strong organisation and analytical skills
  • A self-starter with a pro-active approach to managing workload.
  • Excellent communicator and team player
  • Experience within the utilities / civils sector desirable

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Co-ordinate Excalon training, accreditations, and authorisations, ensuring compliance with legislation, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Track and monitor training expiries ensuring refresher training is organised and attended prior to the expiry date.
  • Build robust relationships with Excalon managers to facilitate training attendance in line with the work programme to minimise non-attendance and booking cancellations and associated costs.
  • Book external training, tests and authorisation interviews and communicate these to the attendees.
  • Manage external training providers, ensuring they are correctly accredited, ensuring quality training standards.
  • Update the Company HR and Training system with training achievements and certifications, maintaining accurate records. Scan and maintain copies of certificates and accreditations.
  • Produce management information for the Head of People and Development to demonstrate training completions, pipeline, and costs.
  • Maximise access to training grants and funding through the CITB, Apprenticeship Levy and any other suitable funding options, ensuring claims are processed in line with the relevant criteria and accrediting body approval process.
  • Track training costs and process invoices for authorisation by the Head of People and Development
  • Monitor, control and apply for client authorisation issue and renewals.
  • Apply for CITB cards such as SMSTS, CSCS, NPORS and NRSWA Streetworks
  • Establish long-term sustainable relationships with training providers and research new providers where required.
  • Obtain training agreements for training attendance.
