Job Title: Music and LAMDA Administrator

Location: Ware, Hertfordshire

Salary: Dependant on Experience

Job Type: Permanent, Term Time only (plus inset days), 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:45am – 3:15pm

(Possible flexibility with start / finish times and days). Flexibility to attend concerts, open days and trips would be beneficial.

The Role

Supporting the students, parents and staff involved in the musical and co-curricular life of the College. To work closely with all members of the Department and wider college community to promote, develop and celebrate Music and the Arts at St Edmund’s. Carry out timetabling of instrumental, singing and LAMDA lessons as well as administration work to help with the smooth running of this busy and thriving department.

Responsibilities include

  • To be the first point of contact for the Music Department and to communicate with and assist pupils, parents and staff involved in the musical and co-curricular life of the College.
  • Timetable music and LAMDA lessons using SOCS application and work to ensure that these run smoothy for pupils, parents and visiting teachers and that billing and payroll is correct.
  • To communicate clearly with parents, pupils and staff regarding all aspects of Music and LAMDA lessons: attendance of lessons; changes to the timetable; new students and examinations. To answer phone calls and emails and respond appropriately and/or discuss with Director of Music as required.
  • To organise all Music (ABRSM, Trinity and LCM) and LAMDA examinations: to enter students, organise accompaniment and act as steward.
  • To assist with organisation of events such as concerts, recitals, trips and tours. Creating programmes, organising transport and catering.

Ideal candidate

  • Educated to A Level Standard.
  • Administrative experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (including excellent verbal and written communication skills) –
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to use own initiative and prioritise workload.
