Job Title: Client Adviser

Location: London (Fully Remote)

Salary: £25,976 per year, increasing to £29,580 after successfully completing probation.

Job type: Full-time, Remote. Fixed-term contract – Potential to be extended. Multiple roles available.

The Role:

We are looking for Client Advisers to join our collaborative and committed Central Adviser Hub on a fixed-term contract. There will be a potential for the role to be made permanent or extended.

The Client Advisers will support our national Asylum Service to support vulnerable asylum seekers across the UK through telephone advice. The Central Adviser Hub will primarily be responsible for completing applications and Induction Briefings for new arrivals as well as providing advice and guidance to eligible asylum seekers.

This is a busy and high paced working environment with changes in demand, by working with the Senior Client Adviser and re-prioritising you work, you will be rewarded by seeing how your efforts positively help our clients. The role will involve being in a wide range of operational processes within the AIRE (Advice, Issue Reporting and Eligibility) Contract, developing yourself and the role in the process.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support Asylum Seekers to complete applications when required, ensuring forms and completed accurately, with the correct level of detail and within required KPIs and timescales
  • Provide detailed induction briefings to new arrivals in Initial Accommodation, provide them with advice and guidance around the asylum process, asylum support and their obligations
  • Work as part of the Central Adviser Hub team to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, policies and procedures, provide the correct advice and guidance to all who require our support
  • Work as part of the national teams, provide support to asylum seekers within initial accommodation across the UK
  • Ensure that all applications are aware of eligibility criteria and their obligations to provide supporting evidence within the required timescales
  • Assist clients to notify the authority of prescribed change of circumstances
  • Undertake casework which may include complex or safeguarding cases as required, liaising with the Home Office, Social Services, Healthcare Professionals and other relevant agencies for applicants with additional support needs
  • Keep full, accurate and up-to-date case records, complete case follow ups within the requisite time scales and undertake any necessary administrative tasks
  • Work within the specification of the contract with the Home Office, and on immigration related matters within the scope of the relevant OISC (Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner) accreditation level and service
  • Handle calls effectively working in a timely way to ensure that clients are supported appropriately whilst ensuring that we are able to support as many people in need as possible

Experience and Skills:

  • ​Experience of working in a pressured environment and meeting targets
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and databases; particularly in making and keeping accurate and timely records
  • Good clear written and oral communication skills in English
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure, both individually and in a team
  • Effective communication skills, particularly in a multi-cultural environment.
