About the role:
Recorra is looking for a Senior credit controller to join our growing team in London.
The role will be based alongside one other Senior Credit Controller, and will prioritise debt owed by our largest clients. Part of the role will also require working together on the total debtor list to maintain optimal cashflow.
The role requires a candidate that is confident with dealing with clients face to face, via email and over the phone. You will be able to self-manage your workload and be organised, while aiming to complete tasks in line with specific monthly deadlines. A proactive approach to problem solving is required and the candidate will be expected to follow queries through and resolve them with other departments to clear invoices for payment.
Key responsibilities:
- Be responsible for managing around 50% of the total debtor listing.
- Sending out regular statements and reminders to the largest clients in our portfolio.
- Provide monthly aged debt reports via excel to the financial controller.
- Maintain the live aged debt listing in excel and run various formulas for accuracy back to Sage.
- Monitor and manage invoices at different stages of being due. The role requires focus on individual old, queried invoices but also sending general communications in bulk for more recent invoices.
- Identify problems at the earliest possible stage so issues do not drag out and affect the target of debt >90 days.
- Liaise directly with clients to improve processes and ensure that new accounts are set up correctly.
- Work closely with colleagues to focus on resolving specific issues holding up payment of invoices.
- Assist in monitoring purchase orders that may be required and/or in need of renewal.
- Perform credit checks on new clients and set credit limits.
- Other ad hoc tasks may be required to assist the finance team as a whole, including BACS processing, allocating payments received, general accounts queries.
Skills and experience sought:
- 4+ Years’ experience in a similar role
- Advanced excel skills with ability to create various reports
- Experienced with Sage50 accounts software
Prior experience with dealing with client purchase orders
